Managing Virus Threats with Proper Air Filtration

Learn how air filter material, media, and configuration impact its ability to mitigate risks based on what we know about SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses' transmission dynamics. Also covered will be the new ASHRAE 170-2021, Ventilation of Health Care Facilities. The standard has incorporated significant changes released last fall with Addendum A to the 2017 publication. A review of the ASHRAE 52.2 testing procedure, along with the significance of MERV vs. MERV-A values. Also discussed will be the economics of air filtration and how filter performance dictates operational costs.

Kyle Petersen is the Healthcare Segment Manager for Camfil, USA. He resides in Las Vegas, NV. Kyle is celebrating his 10-year anniversary with Camfil this year. For much of that time, he worked in Camfil’s National Accounts program. That experience gave Kyle exposure to filtration applications ranging from commercial/industrial applications to microelectronics and life sciences. For the last four years, he has dedicated his time exclusively to the healthcare market.
